Robust
Design Method
This seminar deals with tools to make product
and process designs robust against the impact of noise factors and
is based upon the methods developed by Dr. Taguchi. The basic principle
of robustness and ways to design appropriate experiments are considered.
The signal to noise ratio approach and alternate methods of data
analysis are presented. Ways to combine technical and statistical
knowledge to achieve additivity of effects are discussed. Additivity
leads to compact experiments and widely applicable conclusions.
1. Linear graphs and orthogonal arrays
2. Basic principle to achieve robustness
3. Control and noise factor experiments
4. Signal to noise ratio and other analyses
5. Achieving additivity
6. Computer applications
